On April 16, 2020, Governor Reynolds issued stricter mitigation steps for Northeast Iowa or Region 6 including Winneshiek County. Region 6 has reached the threshold level where new steps need to be taken. Region 6 does include Linn and Blackhawk Counties where they have had long term care outbreaks and a meat packing plant with more positive numbers.
There is to be absolutely NO gatherings for social, community, recreational and leisure purposes except those immediate family members who live in your home all the time. This is effective tonight, April 16, at 11:59 pm and will continue through April 30th.
If you need to go out to get essential items like groceries, you are strongly encouraged to wear a mask. Send only ONE member of your family to go. Try to limit your trips to one time a week. Maintain the 6 feet physical (social) distance whenever you are out. Lastly, please use good hand hygiene and wash your hands often. If you are ill at all, stay home and isolate yourself from household members.
